It’s not hard to find several mechanical keyboards that are both wireless and hot-swap capably, but finding the one that fits your style, budget, and preferences can be difficult. You can’t just take someone else’s word on it; you have to try things out yourself! To help you find your ideal keyboard, we put together this list of the best wireless hot-swap mechanical keyboards on the market today.

Logitech G613 Review

At $130, it’s hard to recommend when you can pick up a wired mechanical keyboard for $10-20 less. The G613 is handsome in its minimalist styling, but we found its performance was lacking. We felt that our keystrokes were less accurate on Logitech’s Romer-G switches than on competing keyboards—even compared to non-mechanical keyboards like our top pick, Corsair’s K70 LUX RGB. The Romer-G switches are also shallower than typical mechanical switches (1.5mm actuation depth versus 2mm), which means there isn’t as much distance for your finger to travel before it bottoms out on the key. This made typing noticeably more difficult and fatiguing over long sessions.

Corsair K70 LUX RGB Review

The Corsair K70 RGB is a new gaming keyboard released by Corsair, using Cherry MX switches and an aluminum chassis. The device features a floating key design that has each individual key suspended over an LED light strip. Like most other gaming keyboards, it also comes with 18 programmable macro keys as well as 6 G-keys allowing for custom macros to be set up. Is it worth your money? Read on to find out.

Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 Review

The successor to Razer’s award-winning BlackWidow Chroma V1, BlackWidow Chroma V2 has been optimized for better lighting effects. Thanks to its backlit color spectrum, you can assign different colors for each key and even make cool custom effects with little effort. To keep things simple, it comes with a multi-key input feature that allows users to press one key for multiple commands. It also comes with on-the-fly macro recording and full media control via function keys and dedicated media buttons. Despite having all these features in tow, it still gets 5 Gbps connection using 2.4 GHz wireless tech at a distance of up to 10 meters.

Cooler Master CK552 Review

This is a great entry-level hot-swap mechanical keyboard, perfect for people looking to get their first mechanical but doesn’t want to spend too much. The CK552 uses Cherry MX blue switches and LED backlighting with seven different brightness levels and five cool color options. If you’re not into RGB (or are just strapped for cash), that’s okay—this board does all of its lightings in one color, which saves you some money. It also has six programmable macro keys and dual USB 2.0 ports so that you can charge your phone or connect to other peripherals without taking up a USB port on your computer. When it comes to wireless hot-swap keyboards, there aren’t many better options at such an affordable price point!

SteelSeries Apex M800 Review

It is hard to compete with a trusty mechanical keyboard, but that does not mean other alternatives are not worth exploring. The Apex M800 by SteelSeries takes a different approach by ditching wires for wireless hot-swapping capabilities, making it an interesting option for gamers who do not want to deal with the hassle of wired keyboards or need more flexibility in their setup. Besides its versatile design, it also has unique features like a headphone hook and multicolor per-key backlighting that you can customize to your liking. Overall, if you are looking for a low-profile keyboard with comfortable switches and do not mind being tethered to your computer via USB cable or battery packs, then SteelSeries Apex M800 might be right up your alley. Speedlink LED Illuminated Gaming Keyboard Review

High-end peripherals tend to be among our most anticipated products, but when we review them, we’re often pretty disappointed. In fact, I was pretty disappointed with my review of Speedlink’s LED Illuminated Gaming Keyboard when I first posted it here on New Atlas. Now that I’ve used it for a couple of weeks, however, my opinion has changed. This is a very good keyboard indeed and well worth considering if you want to play your games in style and without wires.

CM Storm NovaTouch TKL Review

The NovaTouch TKL is one of CM wireless hot swap mechanical keyboardnew generation of full-size, wireless mechanical keyboards. With its understated styling and matte black finish, it doesn’t shout gamer keyboard! like some of their other offerings do. That might be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for, but it definitely sets it apart from some of their other offerings. The NovaTouch also offers two very important features that users have been clamoring for in recent years: N-key rollover over Bluetooth and custom keycaps.
