The Best Home Football Results of the Season!

It’s been an incredible football season, with our team consistently being one of the leaders in their division and building up considerable momentum towards winning a championship at the end of the year. With this in mind, we decided to take some time to reflect on all the amazing wins we’ve seen over the past few months and rank them based on their greatness. We’re confident that even if you don’t support our team, you’ll find something here to get excited about!

Manchester City's first place

Can they win their first trophy? With seven games left in their season, Manchester City's efforts to finally capture a domestic cup or league title have come down to winning at home. They'll have to do it without Vincent Kompany, whose injury could be devastating for their chances—especially because Manuel Pellegrini chose to rest his captain against West Ham last weekend. Manchester City already had trouble staying focused on defense in recent weeks, and if Pellegrini sticks with his plan of relying on Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi instead of Kompany as a center-back pairing, it's hard to see how they'll stop Chelsea from scoring in Sunday's match.

Tottenham Hotspur is in second place

Tottenham Hotspur, coming off a huge win against defending champions Manchester City, extended their winning streak to two games. They take on Newcastle United next weekend and will be playing at home. I'm confident they'll win their next game and continue to strengthen their hold on second place in England's top football league. They had a tough season last year but are certainly one of my favorite teams. Come next month when football starts back up again after the holiday break, I'm hoping Tottenham Hotspur can make some progress towards first place but with so many other good teams out there it won't be easy to maintain that position in England's top football league or make any progress toward winning a championship title...but they have had a great year so far!

Chelsea is in third place

It’s been a tough start to Chelsea’s season, but if things keep going well then they should be able to hold onto their third place. They have four home games coming up and all of them look like easy wins. This weekend it’s Everton at home and then Liverpool before two successive Manchester City games which will likely be won as well. The only thing that can really stop Chelsea from making it into fourth place is if they fail to win more than one game out of those three against Manchester City. Also, keep an eye on other results in case there are any ties. If Arsenal ties against Tottenham then they could move ahead in a few day's time when they play Middlesbrough, for example.

Liverpool in fourth place

Liverpool's run-in includes home games against Hull City, Stoke City, and West Bromwich Albion, as well as away matches at Leicester City and Swansea City. The Reds have won four and lost one of their last five Premier League games at Anfield. Manchester United currently sit in fourth place on 64 points, but Liverpool will finish in that position if they win three or more league games between now and the end of May. Arsenal in fifth place

Arsenal's dismal home form finally caught 7m up with them yesterday, as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Swansea. You could argue that Arsenal's 5th place is deserved given their poor domestic performance over recent years. However, Arsenal fans are likely feeling aggrieved by yet another trophyless season and will be calling for big changes in 2014/15. Wenger has been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea striker Demba Ba, who proved his worth on Sunday by scoring both goals in his team's 2-0 win over Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United is in sixth place

The third position in their Champions League group behind Benfica and Basel ensured Manchester United would not progress to play in Europe’s top competition. This will be Manchester United’s first season without Champions League football since 2005/06, when they finished 11th. To put that into perspective, Antonio Valencia was not even at Manchester United then, he did not sign until 2009. Ryan Giggs had been a manager for two months at that point while there were no other players who had been at Old Trafford longer than three years - with Park Ji-Sung being a January signing on his way out three years later in 2012.
