Carlo Sangalli


Carlo Sangalli, known as Carluccio , was born in Porlezza (Como) on 31 August 1937. Commercial entrepreneur, he graduated in law.


Associative path

Carlo Sangalli joins the Board of Directors of the Union of Commerce, Tourism, Services and Professions of the Province of Milan in 1973.


Since 1995 he has been President of the Union of Commerce of Tourism, Services and Professions of the Province of Milan and since 1996 of Confcommercio Imprese for Italy Lombardy.


From April 1998 to May 2019 he held the position of Vice President of the Cariplo Foundation.


He assumed the Presidency of Confcommercio Imprese for Italy in 2006 and was re-elected by acclamation also in the last elections of 2020.



He was president of 50 & Più and current president of Rete Imprese Italia, the unitary association of the five main organizations representing small and medium-sized enterprises and widespread enterprises (Casartigiani, Cna, Confartigianato Imprese, Confcommercio Imprese for Italy and Confesercenti).


Former President of the Milan Chamber of Commerce since September 2017 he is President of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce of Milan Monza Brianza and Lodi, a new reality resulting from the union of the three previously separated provincial realities. From 2018 to 2021 he was president of Unioncamere.


Political path

Member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1968 to 1992.


He was Undersecretary of State for Tourism and Entertainment, from 1976 to 1978, and Quaestor of the Chamber of Deputies 1987 to 1992.
